Holy bullshit! I just read the article on CNet about the latest MacWorld Expo. It's total crap! I just saw the two big products coming out, the new Shuffle MP3 player and the Mac Mini. Now to gripe about both in detail! LOL!
Lets start with the Mac Mini. This little brick is a Mac PC for only $499!! HOWEVER!! There is no keyboard, mouse, or monitor. I mean wtf! Even the cheapest Dell on the planet comes with at least the keyboard and mouse. I certainly hope the power cord on this little brick isn't optional. Now that would just totally suck balls. Small form factor PC's are out right now and granted they're for people that like to build PC's and not really for mass marketing but still, why buy a PC with nothing but the brick? Makes no sense!
Brand spanking new (and useless??) new flash based MP3 player was also announced at MacWorld called the Shuffle. For only $99 you get a 512MB flash based player with no screen that is loaded with MP3's from ITunes and then plays in a random order......... hmmmm.......... this doesn't sound quite right to me. Granted you can turn off the shuffle feature but I personally like knowing what song is playing and I like being able to PICK my own songs. My fiance just got a Creative Muvo TX FM and that thing kicks all sorts of ass. It plays FM radio stations, it can be used as a flash drve, and it loads up MP3's using drag and drop. And the Shuffle compares how??? LOL!! Bad move Jobs, you should have stayed in the hard drive MP3 business instead of moving to flash drives with the Shuffle.
To all you Mac fans, I am truely sorry LOL! Apple just shot themselves in the foot AGAIN!

Hahaha.......if I understood what you wrote, I'd comment lol...it's Lucy *waves*
I use a Mac full time, and I think the Mini Mac sucks. It's overpriced for what it is, it should come with a monitor, keyboard and mouse. If they want to charge $699 instead of $499, fine, but they need to actually make something affordable and usable if that's what they're advertising. I'll agree that graphics apps work better on Macs than PCs, but that could also be because the Macs I've worked on have more memory than my PC at home. All in all, though, this Mini Mac could be a lot better than it actually is.
That's a load of crap about Macs being of higher quality and having high quality material - CRAP CRAPITY CRAP CRAP CRAP! That's just like saying brands like Donna Karan and Calvin Klein are of higher quality than brands like the Gap or even Old Navy. They're all made by the some other company that charges 1/100 of the price you pay for the label. So next time you think you're cool in your DKNY underwear, just remember, it was made by Hanes.
Talking about Donna Karen like that is a sure sign of a gay man. If I could afford to buy clothes that were made to fit my body, I would. But I can't. So I shop at Old Navy, Target and Mervyns. And I'm damn proud of it.
I thought the whole point about Macs is that PC monitors and such aren't compatible without an adapter, which costs money. Same with keyboards and mice. Plus, the Mini Mac only has 2 USB ports. What do people who have flash drives, zip drives, digital camera reader drives, etc. do once their keyboard and mouse is hooked up?
Boy, you are living in a dream world. Sorry to burst your bubble, but what you pay for in your designer clothes is no more than the designer's time to "design" the clothing line and the label. Then the design is sold to a major clothing manufacturer because your designer doesn't have the resources to make it themselves. So it is 100% truth when I say your DKNY underwear is just like wearing Hanes - I should know, I worked for their licensing department.
LOL, fiance 1, gay man 0 BOOYAH!!!
Okay, then what about this? You currently own a PC laptop. How is switching to Mac affordable for you? It's not. You didn't address the USB issue either. The only reason I would switch is for easy access to all my graphics crap. If I can't access it, what the hell is the point?
It's also easier to steal stuff for PC too lol!! Can't forget that! :)
